Tom Mercer

The following information is provided by Pixley Funeral Home - John Desmond Chapel:

Thomas Hal Mercer, age 67, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Rochester, passed away on September 18, 2025.
He was born on April 28, 1958, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Hal and Lois Mercer and graduated from Avondale High School. On November 22, 1976, he married the love of his life, Brenda, and together they built a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends.

Tom loved sports of every form. He played on baseball, football, volleyball teams, enjoyed golfing, and was dedicated member of a bowling league since he was 18, winning several trophies over the years. He also enjoyed playing cards and looked forward to his Monday night poker games. Though he liked to call himself a “grinch,” his family knew he secretly loved Christmas. A proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Tom was also known for his generosity, attention to detail, and deep devotion to his family. He always had popsicles ready for himself and his grandchildren. Tom made it a priority to ensure that everyone he loved was taken care of.

Tom is survived by his wife, Brenda; his sons, Thomas (Angela) Mercer and James (Deanna) Whiteside; his grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Tanner, Abbie, Gracie, Daniel, and Emma; and his great-grandchildren, Mason and Aiden. He is also survived by his sisters, Chris, Sandy, and Sharon. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Mercer, and his parents, Hal and Lois Mercer.

A visitation for Tom will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM.

Thomas will be laid to rest in Christian Memorial Gardens West, 521 E Hamlin Rd, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48307.
